Welcome to 2006, Fellow Campionites!

Here's hoping that all is well with you and your families. Some of us had a rather heartbreaking start to the year with the tragic loss of two members of the Campion family (Damian Newman & Jamie Lue) in the last month of 2005. We continue to pray for the families and friends in their time of bereavement.

From the recent newspaper articles, most should be aware of the major changes afoot at Campion College with the arrival of our new Principal Mrs. Grace Baston. Following a year of consultation and debate with staff, students, administration, parents and alumni, a 10-year strategic plan for Campion College has been drawn.

At such an exciting time of change, it is vital for the voice of the alumni to be heard. We are keen to keep you all informed of the developments at our alma mater, and as such, we invite you to our General Meeting on Wednesday January 25, 2006 at the Campion College Auditorium at 5:30 p.m. At this meeting, Mr. Reid will formally introduce his successor and both will seek to answer any questions/concerns that anyone may have.

We welcome those who will be in Jamaica at that time. For those who are abroad please feel free to link up with our discussions through the Message Boards on our website - www.campionalumni.com.

We also welcome suggestions (via email or on the Message Board) on ways to appropriately honour/recognize Mr. Reid. While there is the option to have a joint function with the parents of the HSA, (whether we exercise the option or not) we would like to form a committee of past students to help with the organization of the event. Please feel free to offer ideas and/or volunteers for this event.

PLEASE NOTE that the returns to the Sheila Barrett Fund have been going quite well. We urge those who have outstanding ticket returns to send it to the Campion College Head Office to the attention of Mrs. Patricia Moss-Solomon.
